其扇―青い女の世界へ。大地千登勢によるドラマティックな４つの短歌が其扇の感情を詠い、詩的な物語を紡ぎ出す。歴史、芸術性、文化的伝統を探究し、４人のクリエーターの作品についてのリサーチと洞察を読みとれる。短歌、アート、学問の旅を通して、この本にて其扇の物語の深みと美しさを体験して頂きたい。

この本の中の短歌は其扇さんの気持ちで詠いましたが、この気持ちは誰かを愛したときに誰しもがもつ心情ではないかと思います。４つの短歌のうちの一つは、白拍子であった静御前が源義経を想い詠った有名な短歌の本歌取りも作りました。
白拍子もまた遊女の系譜であります。

リサーチでは、丸山遊郭の本を書かれた活水女子大学教授、赤瀬浩先生に丸山遊郭の特異性を解説頂き、日本の民俗学者、国文学者、国語学者であった折口信夫の研究内容から遊女の起源に迫るなど、大変面白いものに仕上がりました。

Into the Book: SONOGI – The Woman in Blue
Step into the world of SONOGI – The Woman in Blue. Four dramatic tanka poems by Chitose Ohchi bring Sonogi’s emotions to life, weaving a poetic narrative. The book offers fact-checked research and insights into the works of four creators, exploring history, artistry, and cultural traditions. A journey through poetry, art, and scholarship, this book invites you to experience the depth and beauty of the life of Sonogi.

I composed the tanka poems in this book as if I were Sonogi. I believe these are the emotions we all experience when we love someone. One of the tanka poems is inspired by a famous tanka written by Shizuka Gozen, a Shiraibyoshi, who was in love with Minamoto no Yoshitsune. The Shiraibyoshi are also part of the Yujo lineage.

The research was fascinating. Backed up by two renowned scholars. Professor Hiroshi Akase of Kassui Women's University, who wrote a book on Maruyama Yukaku, explains its uniqueness, while Shinobu Orikuchi, a Japanese folklorist, literature scholar, and linguist, explores the origins of the Yujo.
